Future Of SEO: 2024 Will Be The Year Of Voice Search
Remember VICI from the popular syndicated American sitcom “Small Wonder” in 1985? The show chronicled the family of a robotics engineer who secretly creates an android named VICI, an acronym of VOICE INPUT CHILD IDENTIFICATION. It resembles today’s digital assistance where fiction has turned to reality, and now you can expect a human-like a response when you ask a question to a device. The power of voice search is such that it has caused a shift in the way people interact with devices and brands. It is indicative of the fact that 30 percent of web browsing will be screenless by 2024, according to Gartner. Also, eMarketer forecasts that there will be nearly 100 million users of voice assistants by 2024
What voice search 2024 means for the future of SEO?s
If we see the voice search trends 2024, it seems that voice has got a lot in store for brand interaction and customer experience. Voice-enabled communication with devices has become a part of consumers’ daily life. According to PwC, 65 percent of people from the age group 25-49 years perform voice searches at least once a day. Added to this, the increase in the usage of voice assistants such as Siri, Google Home, Amazon Echo, or Alexa will impact the search industry in a big way. It suggests a rise in the usage of smart speakers where every one in six Americans will own a digital assistant in the future. Let’s see how the future of voice search looks like and how you can adapt to it:
Longer Search Queries with Conversational Tone
Unlike most of the search queries, voice search 2024 will be more on the conversational side, people will say either complete statements or ask questions. The voice will overtake the text and the search pattern will also change as people will shift from typing specific keywords to longer search queries that have to question mainly.
Apart from this, the conversation with the digital assistants would be more convenient and efficient. Recently, two big tech giants Google and Amazon, have made an announcement, one can initiate a new line of conversation without the use of repeated ‘wake’ words. For instance, one used to say, “Alexa, what’s the time?” and again had to say, “Alexa,” before initiating a new line of conversation, “wake me up at 6. PM.” Now, with the elimination of repeated wake words, you can have a more convenient and streamlined conversation. You can say, “Alexa, what’s the time?” and can simply continue with “wake me up at 6 PM” without requiring to use Alexa again.
Moreover, aligning your keyword research with the pattern of questions asked to digital assistants would be of great help as this may directly open your website on Google snippets. Also, include as much as long-tail keywords in your content as possible to optimize it in the best way.
Questions Will Indicate the User Intent
Who, what, how, when, and where are going to indicate the intent of the user where a how the question can be turned to a where question. For instance, “how can I make pizza at home” and “where can I get the best pizza.” Moreover, the trigger words such as best, easy, free, top, list, etc. can take the voice search to the next level. According to seoClarity, a set of 25 keywords triggers the voice searches by 20 percent, which suggests that questions will rule voice search trends 2024. Try to include broad match keywords in your search campaigns to be able to answer questions asked by visitors in different ways. You will need to optimize your content separately for different types of questions, which will help you include most of them. Also, from the SEO perspective, try to create FAQ-style content that has both the answer and the question so that it appears in the search results as well.
Your customers are already asking ChatGPT, Gemini, and Google AI for recommendations. Is your business in those answers?
Voice Search 2024 Will be Directly Linked to Local Search
According to BrightLocal, local voice searches accounts on 76 percent of smart speaker users on a weekly basis which indicates, voice search 2024 is going to be three times more local. It means that people will be looking for something in their local area and would be asking questions directly on Google example someone commands for SEO services in Indore, than Google SERP will showall the near by SEO services. Optimizing the title tags, meta descriptions, and anchor text with easily accessible phone numbers and addresses and adding “near me” would be beneficial in the long run. Moreover, registering in local listings such as Google My Business and Yelp would be the best as sometimes people completely bypass the website and directly call from the search results.
Has the time come for voice search optimization?
Where is the voice search heading in the future? Looking at the voice search trends 2024, we can say that artificial intelligence and technology is evolving every single day.
